- Jim is the editor for a newsletter for the Seery/Curry Branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann, an organization that promotes the music, dance, language, and culture of Ireland.

- Jim is an active member and webmaster for BPMUG (Business and Professional Microcomputer User Group) of Greater Hartford. Jim leads the Internet S.I.G. (Special Interest Group) for BPMUG as well as being the organization's webmaster.
